Green Acres: Arnold Comes Out

In his college senior year, Arnold Ziffell, lll came "Out" as a Gay pig. When his Uncle Haney found out, he knocked him flat to the ground with the threat, “No one with my pappy’s name is going to be a Faggot!” Recently though, Haney's son bragged to Arnold how proud he was that his Dad (Uncle Haney) had always stood up for Arnold’s right to be a Gay pig. Arnold thought, "So, that was proud? I'm glad he wasn't upset."

  2. What do you mean? It's just fiction about a Pig named Arnold? Do you see some "truth" in these Tails of Green Acres?

  4. Absolutely. Even though he doesn't want to read them.

  5. [Rev Jackim] You and Greg could be a major blessing to us (The Ministry) if you could be so kind as to give us a helping hand. Is their anyway that you and Greg could donate or loan us $300.00 as you know you can write it off at the end of the year. I would not ask you something like this if I were really in a jam. We're working to grow a Ministry in the Over The Rhine area. Grow is the key word here. Because of the kind of Ministry that we do there are not a lot of people outside of the community rushing to be a part of our Ministry. We're waiting to get our Fed Non-profit status so that we can get grants and such. Until then I have to do what I can to keep us afloat. If you can't donate the $300.00 I will give it back if you could give me 30 to 45 days. I will even add 15% which is $45.00 + $300.00 for total of $345.00 if need be. I hate to ask you or anyone for money. I ask for things like food, soda and clothing for the people we serve. This the first time that I'm asking for money. I don't like it...lol.

  6. While we can't do the $300, we'll figure out a smaller gift we can make. Our prayers will be with you too.

  7. [Mom said] Well, you stay in my prayers. Did you chuckle as you wrote this Green Acres tale? who was the dark pig? Janice. ILY Mom

  8. Thanks for the prayers. They help and yes, I chuckled a lot during these. Greg even shared them at work where he got chuckles too. In these, their final version there was a lot more humor than I imagined in the beginning. Aunt Kaye, Obie and Mike rolled on the floor laughing all week! Oh, and by the way, even You and Daddy were used as an example of the rightness of light with dark. The dark pig was not "Janice" although I think you meant "Diane". Her name was Nora.

  9. [mom said] Am I the last person to connect these stories to you? If so, I am real real slow (smile) talk with you later.
